Romanian national road no 73A
Route: From Predeal to Rasnov, county of Brasov
Part of this road is used as a stage in the national rally championship. Starting from Rasnov and going up hill to Paraul Rece. From there it’s a smooth downhill to Predeal.
The road goes thru intense woods and at night wild animals can be spotted. Watch out for bears, as they come down close to the villages for food. If you spot one of them, you can trough him some bread, but the best advise is to continue driving.:)
Once you get to this road, you need to visit the Rasnov Castle, built around 1330. It is the best preserved fortified castle in the area.
And if you got here, then you should definitely drive 15 more km to get to Bran, where you will find the famous Dracula Castle – officially knows as Bran Castle – built around 1377. You can spend one or more nights in this area as there are plenty options for accommodation in Bran, Rasnov, Moeciu and other nearby villages.
From here you can also drive other must driving roads in the area, like Poiana Brasov road, Brasov to Sighisoara or uphill Timisul de jos to Predeal.
